The role focuses on providing comprehensive legal support by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse range of commercial agreements, including services, supplier, consulting, and licensing contracts. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing legal risks associated with indemnification, liability, and data protection. Reporting to the Managing Counsel, the Associate Contracts Counsel will collaborate with internal stakeholders and the Compliance Department to ensure all agreements align with company policies and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include managing contract templates, providing guidance on contract interpretation, and assisting with Requests for Proposal (RFPs). This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week at the Nashville headquarters. Eligibility: * Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. * Active admission to a state bar and in good standing. * Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in commercial contracting. * Prior experience in the background screening industry or another regulated industry. * Working knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). * Proven ability to handle complex contract drafting and negotiations independently.
