Position Overview

Genesys is seeking a highly motivated Associate Corporate Counsel (Commercial) to join its dynamic Legal team. This is a remote-first position based in the United States, offering an exciting opportunity to provide commercial legal support to the North American sales organization. The successful candidate will manage a broad range of technology transactions, SaaS agreements, and operational issues while navigating complex legal and regulatory compliance landscapes, including data privacy and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Negotiation & Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, focusing on cloud services, SaaS agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), statements of work (SOWs), data processing agreements (DPAs), and business associate agreements (BAAs).
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and address legal issues specific to the technology and cloud computing industries, including data privacy, data security, and artificial intelligence regulations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams such as Sales, Data Privacy, Security, Product Counsel, and Finance to align contracting standards with company risk management policies.
  • Process Optimization: Contribute to the development of standard templates, playbooks, and contracting best practices to streamline recurring commercial transactions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Education: A Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Active membership in good standing with the Bar of any US State or Territory, having successfully passed a bar exam.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably gained within an in-house corporate legal department.
  • Work Authorization: Must have the legal right to reside and work in the United States.
  • Core Competencies: Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, excellent conversational intelligence, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000.00 to $167,000.00, depending on experience, skills, and geographic location. Eligible employees may also qualify for performance-based bonus opportunities. Genesys offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
