Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive commercial legal support to the Genesys sales organization to drive business growth while effectively mitigating risks. Key duties include:

• Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, focusing on cloud services, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), statements of work (SOWs), data processing agreements (DPAs), and business associate agreements (BAAs).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams including Sales, Data Privacy, Security, Product Counsel, and Finance to ensure alignment with corporate risk management policies.
• Regulatory Monitoring: Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments impacting cloud computing, data privacy, and artificial intelligence.
• Process Optimization: Contribute to the development of standard templates, playbooks, and contracting standards to streamline legal operations.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for the role:

• Education: A Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school.
• Bar Admission: Active membership in good standing with the Bar of any US State or Territory.
• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably gained within an in-house corporate legal department.
• Work Authorization: Must have the legal right to reside and work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience negotiating complex cloud computing or SaaS transactions, familiarity with contact center technology, and a strong conversational intelligence suitable for customer-facing negotiations.
