Genesys, a global leader in AI-powered experience orchestration, is seeking a highly motivated and intellectually nimble Associate Corporate Counsel to join its dynamic legal team. This is a full-time, remote-first position based in the United States. The role focuses on providing commercial legal support to the North American sales organization, helping drive business growth while effectively mitigating corporate risk.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will handle a broad range of technology transactions and operational legal issues. Primary responsibilities include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, with a specific focus on cloud services, SaaS agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), statements of work (SOWs), Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), and Data Processing Addenda (DPAs).
- Advising internal business and sales units on complex legal issues, including data privacy, data security, and artificial intelligence.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Data Privacy, Security, Product Counsel, and Finance to align contracting standards with company risk management policies.
- Developing and updating standard templates, playbooks, and best practices for recurring commercial transactions.
- Monitoring regulatory and legal developments impacting the cloud computing and software industries.
Eligibility & Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered for this role:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited US law school.
- Bar Admission: Active member in good standing of the Bar of any US State or Territory.
- Experience: 2+ years of relevant commercial transaction experience, preferably gained within an in-house corporate legal department.
- Skills: Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, excellent conversational intelligence, and the ability to deliver practical, business-oriented legal solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Genesys offers a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits, including:
- Base Salary: $95,000.00 to $167,000.00 (dependent on experience, skills, and location).
