Title: Call for Submissions by National Law School of India Review [Volume 37 (2)] Category: Call for Papers Organiser: National Law School of India Review (NLSIR), National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru Description: The National Law School of India Review (NLSIR) is inviting submissions for case comments for its upcoming Volume 37(2). This call specifically seeks critical engagements with the landmark Supreme Court of India judgment in State of Punjab v. Davinder Singh. In this case, a seven-judge Constitution Bench reassessed the homogeneity of the Scheduled Caste category and validated the constitutional permissibility of sub-classification for the purposes of reservations. The journal encourages authors to explore foundational concerns regarding substantive equality, the role of empirical evidence, and the "creamy layer" doctrine within SC/ST reservations. Submissions should offer a sustained critical analysis of the majority and dissenting opinions, tracing the line of precedent from E.V. Chinnaiah to the present, while assessing the judgment's implications for federalism and future legislative reform. Eligibility: * Undergraduate law students (5-year integrated BA/BBA/BCom/BSc LLB). * Students pursuing a 3-year LL.B. program. * Candidates must be from a recognized law university, department, or school in India. * Co-authorship of up to two authors is permitted. Deadline: April 30, 2026 Location: Remote/Online Fees: None Application Link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdDEg53SAOUJV5n9irOQqEa7YGhNaDJqeSdAl5ohowY_HJCnQ/viewform Contact Information: mail.nlsir@gmail.com
