Crunchbase is seeking a Commercial Counsel for AI Products to act as a key legal partner to its Sales, Revenue, Product, Marketing, and Security teams. This remote-first role focuses on managing commercial transactions, specifically SaaS and data licensing agreements, while supporting responsible AI adoption, regulatory compliance, and governance frameworks across the business.Key Responsibilities:
  • Review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including SaaS, Data-as-a-Service (DaaS), enterprise customer, cloud, reseller, and vendor agreements.
  • Provide guidance on privacy and data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) concerning product features and marketing initiatives.
  • Advise on AI-related legal considerations, including data usage rights, IP ownership, risk allocation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the development of internal AI governance policies and leverage AI-enabled tools to optimize contract lifecycle management.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal templates, playbooks, and processes.
