Opportunity Overview: Director, Legal at LATICRETE International
LATICRETE International, a global leader in high-performance tile and stone installation systems with over 65 years of family-owned heritage, is seeking a highly qualified professional for the position of Director, Legal. This is a remote-first role based in Georgia, requiring approximately 25% global travel. The selected candidate will serve as the sole in-house legal advisor for LATICRETE International and its global affiliates, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Key Responsibilities
The Director, Legal will oversee the company’s legal affairs, manage external counsel, and provide strategic legal guidance on corporate, regulatory, and operational matters. Key duties include:
- Corporate Governance & M&A: Overseeing board meetings, shareholder communications, and managing legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Ensuring adherence to local, state, federal, and international laws, and identifying potential legal risks.
- Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Managing global litigation, claims, and investigations, and selecting cost-effective external counsel.
- Contract & IP Management: Drafting critical commercial agreements and protecting the company's global intellectual property portfolio (patents, trademarks, trade secrets).
- Employment Law: Advising HR on employee relations, compliance, benefits, and workplace safety regulations.
Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
To be considered for this executive-level position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Active bar membership in good standing.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of corporate legal experience. Candidates with at least two years of law firm experience combined with substantial in-house experience are preferred.
- Industry Background: Prior experience serving as sole or lead in-house counsel in a global manufacturing or chemical/building products company is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong expertise in contract drafting, M&A transactions, intellectual property strategy, and cross-border legal systems.
Compensation & Benefits
The expected base salary range for this position is $230,000 to $290,000 per annum, depending on experience, skills, and education. LATICRETE also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
