LATICRETE is currently seeking a highly skilled and entrepreneurial Director, Legal to join their team in a remote capacity.
Role Overview
The Director, Legal will serve as the sole in-house legal advisor for LATICRETE International and its global affiliates. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this executive-level position will oversee all global legal affairs, manage external counsel, and provide strategic legal guidance on corporate, regulatory, and operational matters. The role requires a pragmatic, business-focused approach to balance risk management with commercial agility.
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate & Business Law: Oversee corporate governance, board meetings, shareholder communications, and legal matters related to mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with the Enterprise Risk and Audit Director to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international laws.
- Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Manage global litigation, claims, and disputes. Retain and manage external counsel to control legal spend.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate critical commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and licensing deals.
- Employment & Labor Law: Partner with Human Resources to advise on employee relations, terminations, benefits, and workplace safety regulations.
- Intellectual Property: Oversee the protection and enforcement of the company's global IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Active bar membership in good standing.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of corporate legal experience, with a preference for at least 2 years in a law firm and the majority in-house. Experience as a sole or lead counsel in a global manufacturing, chemical, or building products company is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong executive presence, exceptional ethical standards, and the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business strategies.
Compensation & Benefits
The expected base salary range for this position is $230,000 to $290,000 (excluding bonuses and other benefits). LATICRETE offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
