LATICRETE International, a family-owned global leader in high-performance construction and building finishing solutions, is seeking a dynamic and experienced legal professional to join their team as Director, Legal. This is a remote-first role reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), requiring approximately 25% global travel.

Role Overview

The Director, Legal will serve as the sole in-house legal advisor for LATICRETE International and its global affiliates. The successful candidate will oversee the company’s legal affairs, manage external counsel, and provide strategic legal guidance on corporate, regulatory, and operational matters. This role requires balancing risk management with business agility, collaborating closely with U.S. and international teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Corporate Governance & M&A: Oversee corporate governance, board meetings, and shareholder communications. Manage legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Partner with the Enterprise Risk and Audit Director to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international laws.
  • Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Manage worldwide litigation, claims, and disputes. Select and manage external counsel to control legal spend.
  • Contract & Employment Law: Draft and review high-value commercial contracts. Advise Human Resources on global employment law, workplace safety, and benefits.
  • Intellectual Property: Protect and enforce the company's global IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets, in coordination with international teams.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Active bar membership in good standing.
  • Experience: 10+ years of corporate legal experience, with a preference for at least 2 years in a law firm and the majority in an in-house capacity.
  • Preferred Experience: Prior experience as a sole or lead in-house counsel in a global manufacturing, chemical, or building products company. Proven experience in M&A and global IP strategy is highly desirable.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected base salary range for this position is $230,000 to $290,000 per annum (excluding bonuses or other forms of compensation).
