Opportunity Overview: Director, Legal at LATICRETE International
LATICRETE International, a global leader in high-performance construction materials and building finishing solutions, is seeking a highly qualified and ambitious legal professional to join their team as Director, Legal. This is a remote role requiring approximately 25% global travel. The selected candidate will serve as the sole in-house legal advisor for LATICRETE International and its global affiliates, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate & Business Law: Oversee corporate governance, board meetings, and shareholder communications. Manage legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Partner with the Enterprise Risk and Audit Director to ensure global compliance with local, state, federal, and international laws.
- Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Manage global litigation, claims, and investigations. Select and manage external counsel to control legal spend while ensuring high-quality representation.
- Contract Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate critical commercial agreements, vendor contracts, licensing agreements, and employment contracts.
- Intellectual Property & Technology: Oversee the protection and enforcement of the company's global IP portfolio (patents, trademarks, trade secrets) and advise on data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI usage.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Bar Membership: Active Bar membership in good standing.
- Experience: 10+ years of corporate legal experience, preferably with at least 2 years at a law firm and the majority as in-house counsel. Experience as a sole or lead in-house counsel in a global manufacturing or chemical company is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong commercial acumen, exceptional ethical standards, and the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business advice.
Compensation & Benefits
The expected base salary range for this position is $230,000 to $290,000 (excluding bonuses or other benefits). LATICRETE International offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
