Opportunity Overview: Director, Legal at LATICRETE International
LATICRETE International, a global leader in high-performance tile, stone installation systems, and building finishing solutions, is seeking a highly qualified and ambitious professional for the position of Director, Legal. This is a unique opportunity to serve as the sole in-house legal advisor for a family-owned global enterprise with over 65 years of industry presence across 100 countries. The role is remote-friendly, requiring approximately 25% global travel, and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Governance & M&A: Oversee corporate governance, board meetings, shareholder communications, and manage legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Partner with the Enterprise Risk and Audit Director to ensure adherence to local, state, federal, and international laws.
- Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Manage global litigation, claims, and investigations. Select and manage external counsel to optimize legal spend.
- Contract & IP Management: Draft and review critical commercial contracts, and oversee the protection and enforcement of the company's global intellectual property portfolio.
- Employment Law: Advise Human Resources on labor relations, compliance, and workplace safety regulations.
Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
- Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Active bar membership in good standing.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of corporate legal experience, with a preference for at least 2 years in a law firm and the majority in an in-house setting.
- Industry Preference: Experience in global manufacturing, chemical, or building products industries is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong commercial acumen, executive presence, and the ability to translate complex legal issues into actionable business strategies.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected base salary range for this position is $230,000 to $290,000 per annum (excluding bonuses and other benefits). LATICRETE International offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
