The role requires close collaboration with U.S. and international teams, balancing risk management with business agility in a family-owned global company.Key Responsibilities:
- Corporate & Business Law: Oversee corporate governance, board meetings, shareholder communications, and legal matters associated with M&A, joint ventures, and partnerships.
- Regulatory Compliance: Identify and mitigate legal risks, ensuring adherence to local, state, federal, and international laws.
- Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Manage worldwide litigation, claims, and disputes; select and manage external counsel.
- Contract Negotiation: Draft and review critical contracts, licenses, and agreements with partners, customers, and suppliers.
- Employment & IP: Advise HR on labor law compliance and oversee the protection and enforcement of the company's global intellectual property portfolio.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and active Bar membership.
- 10+ years of corporate legal experience, with a preference for manufacturing, chemical, or building products industry experience.
- Ability to travel globally (approximately 25%).
