Opportunity Overview: Director, Legal at LATICRETE International
LATICRETE International, a global family-owned construction brand renowned for high-performance building solutions, is seeking a highly accomplished legal professional to join their team as Director, Legal. This is a remote-based position in Georgia, USA, requiring approximately 25% global travel. Serving as the sole in-house legal advisor, the selected candidate will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and manage the company's global legal affairs, external counsel, and strategic legal risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Governance & M&A: Oversee corporate governance, board meetings, and shareholder communications. Manage legal matters associated with mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Partner with the Enterprise Risk and Audit Director to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international laws across all business units.
- Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Manage global litigation, claims, and disputes. Select and manage external counsel to ensure cost-effective and high-quality representation.
- Contract & Employment Law: Draft and review critical commercial contracts, customer agreements, and licensing deals. Advise Human Resources on global employment and labor law compliance.
- Intellectual Property: Oversee the protection, development, and enforcement of the company's global IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Active bar membership in good standing.
- Experience: 10+ years of corporate legal experience, with a preference for candidates who have spent at least two years in a law firm and the majority of their career in-house.
- Industry Preference: Experience in a global manufacturing company, chemical industry, or building products sector is highly advantageous.
- Skills: Proven track record of providing business-focused legal advice, managing external legal budgets, and handling complex cross-border transactions.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $230,000 to $290,000 per annum (excluding bonuses and other incentives).
