Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will oversee the company’s global legal affairs, manage external counsel, and provide strategic guidance on corporate, regulatory, and operational matters. The role is pivotal in supporting the company's growth while maintaining rigorous risk management and legal compliance across its international operations. The position involves a broad range of responsibilities including corporate governance, managing mergers and acquisitions, overseeing intellectual property portfolios, and advising on employment and labor law. The Director will work closely with senior leadership and international teams, requiring a pragmatic, entrepreneurial mindset suitable for a family-owned business with professional governance. This is a remote-based role that requires approximately 25% travel, including international trips, to support the business's global manufacturing and distribution footprint. Eligibility: * Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school. * Bar membership in good standing. * 10+ years of corporate legal experience, preferably with at least two years at a law firm and the majority as in-house experience. * Demonstrated experience serving as a sole or lead in-house counsel in a global organization is highly preferred. * Experience in a global manufacturing company (specifically chemical or building products) is a plus. * Proven expertise in managing mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property strategy, and complex contract negotiations.
