Title: Vice President, Legal Counsel – Employment Law and Litigation Category: Jobs Organiser: Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) Description: MUFG is seeking a Vice President, Legal Counsel to join its EMEA Legal Department within the Investigations, Litigation, and Employment Team. This London-based role involves providing legal services and managing risk for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities (EMEA) under a dual-hatted arrangement. The successful candidate will handle a diverse and sensitive workload, including employment advice, employment litigation, internal and regulatory investigations, and commercial disputes across the EMEA region. The role requires close collaboration with key control functions, including Compliance, Human Resources, Internal Audit, and Risk. Key responsibilities include advising on the full spectrum of HR issues, managing regulatory and legal proceedings, and leading internal investigations into conduct or ethical issues. This position offers exposure to senior management and requires a lawyer capable of delivering services across multiple jurisdictions and legal systems. Eligibility: • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales, or qualified in a Continental European jurisdiction or New York. • Significant legal experience gained in private practice at a major law firm or in-house at a significant financial institution, sponsor, or asset management firm. • Demonstrable experience advising on HR and employee relations issues; experience with matters outside of the UK is highly desirable. • Proven track record in handling complex investigations, regulatory-linked employment issues, and senior executive matters. • Experience managing litigation in the High Court and the Employment Tribunal. • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
