Description: Montera Infrastructure, a founder-led digital infrastructure firm backed by $1.5 billion from Stonepeak, is seeking a General Counsel to lead its legal, governance, and compliance functions. The company specializes in the development and operation of hyperscale data centers designed for speed, reliability, and scalability. This executive role is pivotal in navigating the legal complexities of land acquisition, energy procurement, and corporate transactions as the organization scales its operations.
The General Counsel will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership team. Responsibilities include maintaining corporate records, drafting internal policies, managing risk through insurance and emergency response strategies, and overseeing the legal aspects of real estate development. Furthermore, the role involves structuring hyperscale lease agreements and navigating regulatory frameworks for energy tariffs and sustainability reporting.
Eligibility:
* J.D. from an accredited law school.
* Admitted to practice and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
* 10+ years of broad-based legal experience, ideally including in-house General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel roles.
* Proven expertise in data center leasing transactions, land acquisition, and real estate development.
* Deep knowledge of corporate governance, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance.
* Experience with energy strategy, utility agreements, and large-scale development projects is strongly preferred.
