Title: General Counsel at talisman Category: Jobs Organiser: talisman Description: talisman is seeking a highly accomplished General Counsel to lead all legal functions across its distributed energy and infrastructure platform. The role serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership and the Board, acting as a key architect for long-term growth across solar, battery storage, EV infrastructure, and microgrid solutions. The successful candidate will own the company’s legal strategy end-to-end, ensuring alignment with business objectives and capital markets expectations. The position involves overseeing sophisticated financing structures, leading negotiations on critical commercial agreements, and managing M&A and strategic transactions. Key responsibilities include structuring offtake agreements (PPAs), executing debt and tax equity transactions, and establishing company-wide compliance and risk management frameworks. Additionally, the General Counsel will be responsible for building and scaling an internal legal department and managing external counsel relationships. Eligibility: * Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar membership in good standing. * 12+ years of legal experience, with significant exposure to renewable energy, infrastructure, or project finance. * Deep expertise in tax equity, structured finance, M&A, and complex commercial contracting. * Demonstrated experience advising executive leadership at a senior strategic level. * Proven ability to build and lead high-performing legal teams. * Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
