Group General Counsel

Title: Group General Counsel at Meet The People Category: Jobs Organiser: Meet The People (MTP Group) Description: Meet The People (MTP) is a private equity-backed collective of independent, entrepreneurial agencies employing over 750 professionals across North America. The organization provides integrated capabilities across the full marketing lifecycle, including brand strategy, media activation, analytics, and retail engagement through a portfolio of specialized companies such as VSA Partners, True Media, and Coegi. The Group General Counsel will lead the legal function across MTP’s North American operations and serve as the primary legal advisor to executive leadership and boards in the United States and Canada. This senior executive role involves managing a high volume of concurrent matters, including commercial contracting, corporate governance, employment law, litigation management, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for structuring complex commercial relationships, overseeing the commercial insurance program, and leading data privacy and cybersecurity initiatives. The role also involves advising on emerging legal risks associated with generative AI and supporting strategic initiatives such as M&A and investments. Eligibility: * 10–15+ years of legal experience, including substantial in-house experience. * Prior experience as a General Counsel or Assistant General Counsel is preferred. * Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (familiarity with Canadian law is a plus). * Strong transactional background with deep experience in commercial contracting (MSAs, SOWs, licensing, etc.). * Demonstrated experience in managing litigation and dispute resolution. * Background in advertising, media, marketing technology, or related industries is strongly preferred.
