Opportunity Overview: Inhouse Counsel / Manager Legal, Compliance & Risk Management
Harmony United Psychiatric Care, a premier network of outpatient mental health clinics in Florida, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated attorney for a full-time, in-house position in Altamonte Springs, FL. This role combines legal counsel, compliance oversight, and risk management across the organization's expanding outpatient and telehealth clinics.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding the organization's legal and regulatory standing. Primary duties include:
- Contract Drafting & Review: Preparing, reviewing, and revising employment agreements, healthcare compliance documents, business contracts, and real estate leases to ensure alignment with state and federal laws.
- Policy Development: Formulating and updating internal policies and procedures to maintain compliance with employment laws, corporate governance, and healthcare regulations.
- Litigation & Representation: Representing the organization in investigations, litigation, and regulatory proceedings before courts and administrative bodies.
- Regulatory Advisory: Providing clear, actionable legal counsel to senior management regarding healthcare operations, HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statutes, and employment practices.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following professional standards to be considered for this role:
- Education: Must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution. A Master of Laws (LLM) degree is highly preferred.
- Bar Admission: Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar is mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Healthcare Law (preferred), Employment Law (preferred), Corporate Law, or Real Estate Law.
- Skills: Strong proficiency in legal research, analysis, and writing, alongside excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
