This is a premier opportunity for an intellectual property specialist to manage a diverse, high-stakes global IP portfolio and directly shape the company's IP strategy within a fast-paced fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of a lean, high-impact legal team of two (supported by a Paralegal), the selected candidate will handle a wide range of complex intellectual property matters on a global scale. Primary responsibilities include:
- Portfolio Management: Growing and managing Revolut's global intellectual property portfolio through proactive registration and strategic management.
- Risk Mitigation: Limiting losses and managing risks associated with IP infringement claims and defensive IP processes.
- Product Clearance: Providing legal guidance across various global business units to ensure products are cleared for launch through rigorous approval processes.
- Litigation & Disputes: Handling pre-dispute matters and active litigation regarding IP infringement in the UK and international markets.
- Patent Prosecution: Drafting, preparing, and prosecuting high-quality patent applications before the EPTO and other international patent offices.
- FTO Searches: Conducting thorough patentability and freedom-to-operate (FTO) searches to identify potential infringement risks and assess innovation viability.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for this position must meet the following professional requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in intellectual property law.
- Domain Expertise: Strong background in IP registration, infringement claims, and defensive strategies.
- Jurisdictional Exposure: Proven experience dealing with IP matters across multiple jurisdictions, specifically the UK and global markets.
- Patent Experience: Hands-on experience preparing, filing, and prosecuting patent applications before the EPTO and/or international patent offices.
- Language Skills: Full professional fluency in English is mandatory.
