Qatar National Cement Company (QNCC), a leading industrial manufacturing entity in Qatar, is inviting applications for the executive position of Head of Legal based in Doha, Qatar. This is a full-time, high-impact leadership role suitable for seasoned legal professionals with extensive experience in corporate governance, commercial transactions, and industrial operations.
Roles and Objectives
The Head of Legal will lead and manage the Legal Section to provide strategic legal advice and support across all of QNCC's business operations. Key objectives include safeguarding the company's legal interests, mitigating contractual and operational risks, and ensuring strict compliance with Qatari laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Advisory: Provide high-level legal counsel to the CEO and Executive Management on corporate operations, investments, plant expansions, and strategic initiatives.
- Contract & Tender Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and manage complex commercial contracts, procurement agreements, construction tenders, and service agreements.
- Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Oversee litigation, arbitration, labor disputes, and regulatory investigations. Coordinate effectively with external legal counsel.
- Compliance & Governance: Monitor developments in Qatari laws and advise on their impact. Manage legal documentation relating to board resolutions, shareholder matters, and regulatory filings.
- Risk Management: Establish and maintain an effective legal risk management framework to minimize potential liabilities.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for this position must meet the following academic and professional requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university. A Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.) in Corporate Law, Commercial Law, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Professional Credentials: Admission to practice law and/or professional legal certification is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 to 15 years of post-qualification legal experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership legal position.
