Trafigura is seeking a highly qualified Legal Counsel to support its expanding business operations across the APAC region. The role primarily involves providing legal counsel on transactional and regulatory matters across Trafigura’s commercial trading portfolio, with a specific focus on banking finance and structured trade finance. Key Responsibilities:
- Transactional Advice: Advising on structured trade finance documentation, prepayments, banking facilities, and sale and purchase contracts.
- Regulatory Advice: Providing guidance on financial and commercial regulations affecting new and existing business operations in the APAC region.
- Risk Management: Identifying key legal risks and developing practical mitigation strategies for commercial stakeholders.
- External Counsel & Training: Procuring and managing external legal support, and delivering legal and compliance training to internal staff.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Professional legal qualification with a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Admission to practice in the UK, Singapore, Australia, or New Zealand, with credible private practice experience in the respective jurisdiction.
- In-house experience within a trading or equivalent commercial environment is preferred, alongside significant international cross-border experience in finance, trade finance, or banking finance.
- Excellent command of the English language and strong IT/organizational skills.
