The role involves providing comprehensive legal support to commercial teams, primarily focusing on Confused.com, a leading UK comparison platform. The successful candidate will manage a varied commercial workload, applying strong drafting and negotiating skills to drive business initiatives and create value across the group's brands, which include Uswitch and money.co.uk. The core of the role involves drafting, negotiating, and executing complex commercial agreements while proactively improving the legal processes and precedents that underpin the business. Beyond daily contracting, the Legal Counsel will provide guidance on risk assessment, data protection, and e-privacy laws, and assist with corporate integration projects. This position offers a hybrid working environment, requiring two days per week in either the London or Cardiff office. Eligibility: • Qualified to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales or another common law jurisdiction. • 1 to 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in-house or at a commercial/corporate law firm (candidates with more or less experience are also encouraged to apply). • Proven technical ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements within tight timescales. • Experience advising on IT, data protection, and e-privacy laws. • Knowledge of intellectual property, competition law, or the insurance/financial services sector is desirable.
