Description: Space Executive is partnering with a leading international asset-heavy platform to recruit a Legal Counsel in Singapore. This newly created role within an established legal team supports a global business operating at the intersection of shipping, logistics, commodities, and energy. The role offers strong exposure to a dynamic environment and is suited for a commercially minded lawyer seeking a broad, hands-on in-house position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (service, supplier, subcontractor, and confidentiality agreements).
- Support disputes relating to commercial contracts and asset-related transactions.
- Assist on corporate and financing matters, including joint ventures and cross-border transactions.
- Support the establishment and ongoing management of international entities.
- Contribute to legal risk management, internal policies, and process improvements.
- Assist with compliance, KYC processes, contract management, and corporate governance.
- Supervise and mentor junior legal team members.
Eligibility:
- Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction, ideally England & Wales.
- Approximately 5–10 years’ PQE, gained in private practice and/or in-house.
- Strong grounding in commercial contracts, with exposure to disputes and/or cross-border matters.
- Prior experience in shipping / shipowner environments is highly regarded. Candidates from adjacent sectors (e.g., oil & gas, commodities trading, logistics, infrastructure) are also encouraged to apply.
