Description: Success Academy Charter Schools is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its highly collaborative Advisory Legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, dedicated attorney to grow and develop as an in-house generalist while contributing to a mission-driven organization committed to delivering public education. The role involves advising on legal questions touching all aspects of operations, managing regulatory reporting, supporting advocacy/expansion efforts, and drafting agreements.
Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on legal questions touching all aspects of operations, including expansion, compliance, charter management, and day-to-day operations.
• Manage regulatory reporting to authorizers and government agencies.
• Support advocacy and lobbying efforts.
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements.
• Advise on data privacy issues and conduct legal research/writing.

Eligibility:

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school (or equivalent).
• Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state, with admission to the New York Bar or eligibility for in-house qualification in New York.
• At least four years of legal experience, including in-house at a fast-paced company, nonprofit, and/or BigLaw.

Remuneration: $130,000 - $140,000 USD (Full benefits program included; not bonus eligible)
