Description: Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Legal and Compliance Team. The successful candidate will provide legal support and risk management services, working closely with the General Counsel and executive offices. Responsibilities include negotiating commercial contracts (service agreements, novation, confidentiality), assisting with shipping disputes (charter parties, MOAs, shipbuilding), and supporting corporate transactions such as joint ventures. The role also involves supervising junior lawyers and managing compliance and KYC processes.
Eligibility: Applicants must possess a formal legal qualification at the University Degree level or higher and be qualified as a practicing lawyer in England and Wales, Singapore, or another common law jurisdiction. A minimum of 5 years of relevant direct working experience in an international business legal department or a professional law firm is required. Shipping industry experience is preferred but not essential.
