Title: Legal Counsel, Carelon Contracting Category: Jobs Organiser: Elevance Health Description: Elevance Health is seeking a Legal Counsel for its Carelon Contracting division to provide strategic legal advice and recommendations for large-scale initiatives. The role involves acting as a partner and decision-maker with senior leadership, focusing on projects with broad organizational impact and moderate risk levels. The Counsel will primarily support Carelon Services businesses, including behavioral health, medical benefits utilization management, and specialty care solutions. The successful candidate will negotiate and manage complex client contracts with health plan clients, state agencies, and employer groups. Key responsibilities include harmonizing contract management workflows, implementing contract lifecycle management software, and providing legal guidance on health law, regulatory compliance, and risk assessment. Additionally, the role involves assisting with pre-litigation contractual dispute management and preparing various legal documents such as settlement agreements and confidentiality agreements. Eligibility: * Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. * Current license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. * Minimum of 3 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post-licensure (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). * Prior experience negotiating complex, high-value health plan contracts and services arrangements is preferred. * Experience with legal operations and contract management software in a large organization is preferred.
