Overview of the Opportunity

Jameson Legal, a premier global legal recruitment specialist, is currently seeking a qualified Legal Counsel (Commercial) on behalf of a high-growth business operating in the Technology and Telecommunications sector. This in-house legal role is situated in Bradford, West Yorkshire, and offers a modern, hybrid working arrangement. The successful candidate will join an experienced Legal Operations department, supporting well-known brands across telecoms, broadband, and media portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

The appointed Legal Counsel will be responsible for delivering high-quality, commercially pragmatic legal advice to internal and external stakeholders. Key duties include:

• Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a diverse range of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, service agreements, consultancy contracts, framework agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), IT and software licenses, and strategic collaboration or partnership agreements.
• Risk Management: Identifying, analyzing, and mitigating legal and commercial risks associated with transactional matters to safeguard the business's interests.
• Legal Operations: Contributing to the development, maintenance, and optimization of standard terms, conditions, and templates, while driving overall process improvements within the legal function.
• Stakeholder Advisory: Acting as a trusted advisor to various business units, translating complex legal concepts into clear, actionable business advice.

Eligibility & Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following professional criteria:

• Professional Qualification: Must be a UK-qualified Solicitor.
• Experience: Possess between 2 to 4 years of Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) gained within a reputable commercial law firm or an established in-house legal department.
• Core Competencies: A strong foundational knowledge of commercial law, exceptional drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to provide concise, business-oriented legal counsel.

Work Location & Schedule

This is a full-time, associate-level position based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. The organization operates on a hybrid model, requiring the Legal Counsel to work from the Bradford office two days per week, offering excellent work-life balance and flexibility.
