Title: Legal Counsel, Commercial and Contracts Category: Jobs Organiser: TechnipFMC Description: TechnipFMC is seeking a qualified Legal Counsel to join its Subsea Legal Contracts & Commercial team. The role is primarily focused on analyzing the legal aspects of bidding processes and Group contracts to ensure the legal and operational viability of the company’s global energy projects. The successful candidate will work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with Tendering, Finance, Tax, and Insurance departments. Key responsibilities include conducting detailed legal reviews of Invitations to Tender (ITT), identifying commercial risks, and preparing qualifications in line with company bidding procedures. The Counsel will also lead or assist in negotiations with clients, joint venture partners, and subcontractors, while providing essential guidance on contractual "flowdowns" and risk mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle. Eligibility: * A minimum of 5 years of contracts experience, including 2–3 years within the oil and gas industry. * A Juris Doctorate (JD) or equivalent legal qualification is preferred. * Thorough knowledge of key contractual principles, including indemnities, warranties, force majeure, default provisions, and limitations of liability. * Strong proficiency in written and spoken English. * Advanced PC skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and presentation tools. * Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
