Based at their headquarters in Cheltenham, England, this full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for a commercial property lawyer to join an in-house legal team and actively support Superdry's retail estate turnaround strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Negotiation: Advise on, negotiate, and commercially implement a diverse range of commercial property agreements spanning Superdry's retail operations, with opportunities to learn about wholesale and franchise models.
- Strategic Advisory: Provide practical, highly commercial advice on property laws and regulations, supporting the core property growth work central to the brand's turnaround strategy.
- Litigation Support: Assist the General Counsel on property litigation matters.
- Business Partnering: Act as a dedicated Legal Business Partner to the Property, Retail, Finance, and People teams, building strong cross-functional relationships.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement within the legal team through technology and process optimization to manage risk effectively.
- External Counsel Management: Manage the instruction of external counsel and service providers, and oversee commercial property trackers and portfolio meetings.
Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification: Must be a qualified solicitor authorized to practice in England and Wales.
- Experience: Ideally possesses at least 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in Commercial Property, though exceptional candidates with different experience levels will be considered.
- In-house Exposure: Prior experience working in a relevant in-house legal environment, either through a permanent role or secondment, is highly advantageous.
- Skills: Strong technical knowledge of property laws governing retail/consumer businesses, excellent communication skills, and a solutions-driven, resilient mindset.
