About the Opportunity

Bridgestone Asia Pacific is inviting applications for the position of Legal Counsel at its Regional Head Office in Singapore. The selected candidate will join the Legal and Compliance Team, taking on the responsibility of managing a diverse range of legal, compliance, and risk support activities across designated Asia-Pacific (APAC) geographies. This is a full-time, mid-senior level role suitable for a solutions-oriented, accountable, and ethical legal professional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisory: Act as lead counsel, trusted advisor, and strategic business partner to internal stakeholders across regions.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including procurement, original equipment manufacturers (OEM), distributorship, and dealer agreements.
  • External Liaison: Manage external counsel and lead contract negotiations with customers, channel partners, and vendors.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Provide legal guidance in areas such as procurement, logistics, supply chain, brand marketing, labor & employment, IT, corporate governance, and strategic transactions.
  • Compliance & Risk: Collaborate with the compliance team to conduct investigations and implement policies/procedures concerning anti-bribery, antitrust, sanctions, and data privacy.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Degree in Law (LL.B) or its equivalent.
  • Professional Qualification: Professional legal qualification (e.g., Bar Admission, Solicitor’s qualification) or equivalent.
  • Experience: 7 to 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience (PQE) within a law firm and an in-house corporate legal department (experience in an MNC is highly preferred).
  • Skills: Strong commercial contract negotiation skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and tech-savviness. Proficiency in any South-East Asian language is considered an advantage.
