The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and leading complex litigation matters aimed at protecting religious freedom, free speech, and parental rights. Reporting to the Senior Counsel, the Legal Counsel will manage cases with minimal oversight, assisting the Free Speech team in high-stakes advocacy. The role involves developing comprehensive litigation strategies, conducting advanced legal research, and producing high-quality legal documents, including briefs, motions, and memoranda. Key duties also include conducting fact and expert discovery, taking and defending depositions, and representing the organization’s advocacy efforts in the court of public opinion through media interaction. Eligibility: * Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. * Active license in at least one U.S. state bar. * Capability of meeting admission requirements in the relevant jurisdiction within one year of hire. * Minimum of one (1) year of experience in complex litigation.
