SD Legal is recruiting a Legal Counsel (Investments / Funds) for a globally focused Investment firm with offices in the US, Europe, Middle-East, and Asia. This newly created role in Singapore will primarily partner with the APAC business, supporting daily and longer-term transactional and commercial projects. The work is split equally between transactional (50%) and commercial (50%) responsibilities. Key Responsibilities:
  • Play a lead role in supporting transactions across the APAC region, including structuring and negotiating agreements from concept to closure.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate fund/product-related documentation and agreements (such as distribution and marketing/sales).
  • Work closely with product and finance teams, offering key compliance and governance support for new product launches and distribution.
  • Collaborate with external counsel in key growth jurisdictions such as Japan, Korea, and India.

Requirements:
  • Strong education and law firm training.
  • 6 - 12 years of Post-Qualified Experience (PQE).
  • Mix of transactional and commercial fund-related background.
  • Experience handling various commercial documents such as LMA/LPAs and across regulated products.
  • Commercial and strategic experience in helping to grow an office or region.
  • Regulatory experience across APAC and the ability to handle stakeholders in Asia, the UK, and the US.
