Opportunity Overview: Legal Counsel - M&A / Investments

The client is a highly reputed global business operating across various asset classes with physical offices in the US, Europe, and Asia. This full-time, mid-senior level role is based in Singapore and offers an exceptional opportunity for corporate lawyers to work on high-value cross-border transactions.

Work Allocation & Focus Areas

The selected candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of corporate and commercial matters. The work allocation is structured as follows:

• Transactions (50%): Leading and supporting corporate-led transactional work, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures (JVs), and investment-led projects.
• Commercial (25%): Handling ad-hoc commercial contracts, drafting, and negotiation.
• Business Advisory & Strategy (25%): Working closely with investment teams to structure business strategies and implement individual and team-contributed ideas.

Key Responsibilities

• Forming part of a key team that evaluates and executes investment opportunities across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
• Providing transactional support and commercial guidance while ensuring strict compliance with key regulatory requirements.
• Collaborating with overseas stakeholders and managing cross-border legal workflows.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this prestigious role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Experience: 5 to 10 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
• Background: A strong, essential background focused on M&A or investments.
• Education: Educated and trained at Tier-1 establishments, with demonstrable overseas experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Candidates possessing an MBA, Master of Laws (LL.M.), or equivalent business-related experience will be highly preferred.
• Soft Skills: Proven ability to work effectively within a small-to-mid-sized growing team in Singapore while seamlessly coordinating with key international stakeholders.
