A leading global media giant is seeking a commercially focused Legal Counsel (Media) to join its highly regarded legal team based in London, United Kingdom. Role Overview and Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join a collaborative global legal team, gaining exposure to a broad range of international commercial matters while enjoying significant autonomy and responsibility. Key duties include:
- Contract Management: Drafting, negotiating, and advising on a diverse range of commercial contracts, including client agreements, technology licences, supplier contracts, data processing agreements (DPAs), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and talent/influencer agreements.
- Regulatory Advisory: Advising on intellectual property (IP), advertising regulation, data privacy, and emerging AI-related legal issues.
- Business Support: Supporting client pitches, contract negotiations, and strategic business initiatives.
- Compliance & Training: Delivering legal and compliance training to internal stakeholders and assisting with data privacy compliance, dispute management, and risk mitigation.
- Template Development: Developing and updating contract templates and legal guidance materials.
- Cross-Border Collaboration: Partnering with legal colleagues and business teams across multiple international jurisdictions.
Eligibility & Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Professional Qualification: Must be a Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with a minimum of two (2) years Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
- Practice Area: Strong background in commercial contracts, corporate law, or equivalent post-qualification experience.
- Specialized Knowledge: A working knowledge of intellectual property, advertising, privacy, and AI regulation is considered a massive advantage.
- Key Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory. Additional European language skills, particularly French or Italian, are highly advantageous.
