Taylor Root, a premier global legal recruitment agency, is currently recruiting for a part-time Legal Counsel on behalf of a growing financial services organisation in London, United Kingdom. This position is designed for an experienced legal professional seeking a flexible, part-time in-house role (2 to 3 days per week) within a lean, fast-paced, and dynamic real estate investment platform.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will handle a broad, hands-on portfolio covering the entire lifecycle of real estate transactions, fund structures, and corporate matters. Primary duties include:
- Transactional & Operational Support: Providing day-to-day legal support across fund structuring, corporate transactions, financing, commercial contracts, employment matters, and dispute resolution.
- Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and proactively managing legal risks across the business platform.
- Strategic Advisory: Advising internal teams and senior leadership on legal aspects of ongoing projects, strategic initiatives, and operations.
- External Counsel Management: Instructing and managing external law firms, negotiating fee structures, and coordinating external legal workstreams.
- Governance & Compliance: Providing company secretarial support, assisting with corporate governance processes, and overseeing AML/KYC and regulatory compliance requirements.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this highly sought-after in-house position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Professional Qualification: Must be a Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
- Experience Level: Typically requires at least 5 years of Post-Qualified Experience (PQE), though there is flexibility based on individual merit and depth of experience.
- Sector Expertise: Essential experience in funds and/or real estate, with strong exposure to property, development, or investment transactions.
- Key Skills: Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and organisational skills, combined with a highly commercial and pragmatic mindset.
