This high-impact, mid-to-senior-level role offers the unique opportunity to lead global product development and distribution legal strategies from key global hubs, including the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, or Singapore.

Role Overview and Focus Areas

The position is structured around a balanced portfolio, split evenly between product regulation and commercial advisory:

  • Global Product & Regulation (50%): Serving as the lead counsel on global product development, launch, and distribution. The successful candidate will anticipate cross-border regulatory hurdles and advise on complex compliance landscapes.
  • Commercial Advisory (50%): Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, supporting sales and marketing initiatives, and ensuring alignment with localized laws across the US, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific regions.

Key Responsibilities

The Global Products Lead Counsel will be responsible for the following key mandates:

  • Collaborating closely with senior business and legal stakeholders to align regional market initiatives with global oversight.
  • Acting as a strategic advisory function to help product-focused business teams navigate complex regulatory and commercial environments.
  • Anticipating cross-border challenges and regulatory obstacles for new product launches, and strategically allocating resources (including in-country counsel and external vendors) to mitigate risks.
  • Working with international colleagues in the US, UK, and Asia to ensure marketing and sales strategies comply with local laws.

Eligibility Criteria & Requirements

  • Experience: 6 to 12 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
  • Credentials: Tier-1 academic background and law firm credentials, preferably within international practices.
  • Practice Area: Strong experience supporting product, sales, and marketing teams is essential. Experience handling commercial and regulatory issues in technology or financial services (FS) is highly desirable.
  • Background: A mix of law firm and in-house experience is preferred. High-performing lawyers from Technology, Media, and Telecoms (TMT) practices of Tier-1 firms (including those with in-house secondments) are highly encouraged to apply.
