SD Legal, a premier global legal and compliance recruitment firm established in 2018, is currently hiring for a newly created Legal Counsel - Transactions (Funds, Data Center, Real Estate) position. This strategic role is based in Singapore and is designed to support a multi-asset focused global fund in Asia as part of its ambitious 2030 growth strategy.
Role Overview & Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will act as a hands-on transaction lawyer, working closely with investment teams to structure, negotiate, and execute a wide variety of commercial deals. The workload is structured as follows:
- Transactional & Commercial (80%): Leading M&A, investments, and general corporate transactions. A primary focus will be supporting the fund's expanding digital infrastructure and data center portfolio.
- Compliance and Advisory (20%): Navigating regulatory frameworks and managing compliance-led matters across the Asia-Pacific region.
In this role, you will have the autonomy to influence senior regional stakeholders and align local transactions with the group's overarching strategy, working in close coordination with the Chief Legal Officer.
Eligibility & Candidate Profile
The recruiting team is seeking highly driven legal professionals who meet the following criteria:
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
- Background: Training at a Tier 1 law firm combined with relevant in-house experience or corporate secondments.
- Domain Expertise: Strong investment-led transactional experience. Prior experience handling data center deal flows is highly desirable.
- Skills: Exceptional communication skills to manage relationships with local, regional, and international stakeholders. Candidates must possess a stable CV and a proactive, growth-oriented mindset.
