Serving as the primary in-house legal leader and reporting to the COO, the successful candidate will oversee regulatory strategy, healthcare compliance, and corporate governance. The role is high-impact, requiring the candidate to manage day-to-day legal operations while strategically partnering with outside counsel for specialized matters such as litigation and complex reimbursement issues. The position involves significant responsibility across multiple domains, including HIPAA/HITECH compliance, state telehealth laws, and AI data governance. Key highlights of the role include navigating the regulatory landscape for clinical AI tools, managing payor contract reviews, and maintaining the necessary licensure to operate as a digital health clinic and DME supplier across all 50 U.S. states. The role is designed for a hands-on professional capable of building systems that support growth thoughtfully and at scale. Eligibility: * Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active U.S. bar admission. * Minimum of 7+ years of relevant legal experience, including in-house experience at a telemedicine/digital health company or substantial health-tech experience at a large law firm. * Strong expertise in HIPAA/HITECH, including negotiating BAAs and providing privacy counseling. * Working knowledge of healthcare fraud and abuse laws (e.g., Anti-Kickback Statute) and state telehealth licensure requirements. * Proven track record in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment. * Ability to reside on the East Coast of the U.S. (preferred).
