As the primary in-house legal leader reporting to the COO, the successful candidate will oversee regulatory strategy, healthcare compliance, and corporate governance for a digital health platform operating across all 50 U.S. states. The role involves managing high-impact areas such as HIPAA/HITECH compliance, state telehealth laws, and payor contract negotiations. Additionally, the Legal Director will lead AI and data governance frameworks as the company deploys clinical AI tools, ensuring the business moves efficiently while maintaining rigorous legal guardrails. Eligibility: * JD from an accredited law school and active U.S. bar admission. * Minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience, including in-house experience at a telemedicine or digital health company. * Strong expertise in HIPAA/HITECH compliance, including negotiating BAAs and privacy counseling. * Experience advising on state telehealth, licensure, and professional entity issues across multiple jurisdictions. * Proven track record in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment with substantial autonomy. * Working knowledge of healthcare fraud and abuse laws (e.g., Anti-Kickback Statute).
