Title: Privacy Counsel at StackAdapt Category: Jobs Organiser: StackAdapt Description: StackAdapt is seeking a Privacy Counsel to support and develop its global privacy program. Reporting to the Global Privacy Counsel, the successful candidate will be directly involved in maintaining compliance with international privacy laws, mitigating organizational risk, and fostering trust with customers and consumers. This role requires working cross-functionally with various business units and strategic projects to advance data protection initiatives and supporting technologies across the enterprise. The position involves a wide range of responsibilities, including negotiating and drafting Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), providing actionable legal guidance on data protection frameworks, and monitoring evolving privacy legislation. The counsel will also implement "privacy by design" principles and provide thought leadership on privacy matters. This is a remote-first opportunity within a collaborative global legal team, open to candidates located in Canada or the United States. Eligibility: * At least 5 years of experience in privacy, legal operations, or a similar in-house role within the adtech/martech industry, or within the privacy group of a reputable firm. * Active standing in at least one state bar in the United States. * Practical experience providing legal guidance regarding risks and obligations under data protection frameworks (e.g., CCPA, COPPA, PIPEDA, HIPAA). * Strong understanding of data protection laws and industry guidelines relevant to marketing and advertising technologies. * Exceptional writing and drafting skills, with the ability to translate complex privacy concepts into business terms. * IAPP Privacy certification is preferred.
