Remote Lawyer (Legal Expert Contract)

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a highly analytical and skilled Legal Expert for a remote, hourly contract position. As a Legal Expert, you will play a critical role in reviewing, analyzing, and structuring complex legal content, contributing directly to high-quality legal annotation workflows and assessment development.

Key Responsibilities

• Content Analysis: Review and analyze visual and contextual content to identify key legal issues, principles, and concepts.
• Assessment Development: Design and develop complex, high-level legal questions and assessments requiring deep domain expertise.
• Categorization & Tagging: Accurately tag and categorize legal content to ensure seamless workflow alignment and efficient routing to other experts.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to maintain the highest quality, relevance, and accuracy of legal content.
• Continuous Improvement: Incorporate feedback from quality assurance reviews to continuously refine and elevate the complexity of legal questions.
• Ethics & Accuracy: Maintain strict ethical standards, precision, and meticulous attention to detail across all assigned tasks.

Eligibility & Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Legal Expertise: Possess strong, demonstrable expertise in legal practice, legal analysis, or academic law.
• Analytical Skills: Exhibit excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities within complex legal contexts.
• Scenario Interpretation: Ability to interpret intricate legal scenarios using both visual and contextual information.
• Assessment Creation: Prior experience in creating advanced legal assessments, case studies, or case-based questions is highly desirable.
• Work Ethic: Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and thrive in a structured, remote work environment.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Compensation & Engagement Details

• Hourly Rate: $30.00 to $40.00 USD per hour (base pay range depends on skills and experience).
• Work Commitment: Flexible hours ranging from 10 to 40 hours per week.
