Description:
Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai is inviting applications for various research positions under a longitudinal study funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). The project investigates the impact of aggressive pricing practices by fast-growing e-commerce platforms on the livelihoods of street vendors across major Indian cities. The study utilizes field surveys, interviews, and legal-regulatory analysis to identify policy gaps and generate evidence for socio-economic impact.
Selected candidates will conduct research focusing on competition law and policy, cyber law, platform governance, and the platform economy. The project aims to engage with urban hawker communities, retailers, and government officials to collect data that will inform proposed reforms for fair digital markets and the protection of informal traders. The duration of the positions ranges from 3 to 12 months.
Eligibility:
* Research Associate: Post-graduate in Social Science or Law (minimum 55%) with NET/M.Phil/Ph.D. and 2 years of research experience as a research assistant.
* Research Assistant: Post-graduate in Social Science or Law (minimum 55%) with NET/M.Phil/Ph.D.
* Field Investigator: Post-graduate in Social Science (minimum 55%).
* Desirable (All Positions): Candidates pursuing a Ph.D. or holding a Ph.D., previous work experience of over one year in a similar area, and relevant publications.
