Description: Midland Credit Management is seeking a full-time Staff Counsel for Legal Collections in San Diego, CA. The selected candidate will draft, review, and file legal pleadings, manage and resolve collection litigation, provide legal support for the collections litigation business unit, and ensure corporate compliance with laws and regulations governing debt collection.
Key Responsibilities:

• Create, review, direct, and resolve collection litigation matters cost-effectively.
• Represent the company in hearings, trials, mediations, highly contested cases, counterclaims, appeals, and cross-claims.
• Provide legal advice to support compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Determine appropriate settlements with consumers experiencing hardships.
