The role operates on a full-time basis under the training/internship seniority level, offering a structured pathway to becoming a commercial pilot.

Main Objective of the Role

As a UAE Cadet, the successful candidate will train to ensure the safe operation of the aircraft as 'Second in Command' during both normal and non-normal situations. This responsibility is carried out under the direct supervision and directives of the Captain or Aircraft Commander, and where applicable, the First Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Flight Safety & Efficiency: Provide continuous input and assistance to the Captain to ensure all flights are operated safely and efficiently.
  • Brand Representation: Act as a brand ambassador for flydubai, maintaining high personal standards of discipline, conduct, and professional appearance.
  • Duty of Care: Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility for the welfare and safety of both the cabin crew and customers.
  • Operational Support: Assist the commander in supervising fueling, baggage/cargo loading, and general servicing of the aircraft.
  • Procedural Compliance: Ensure the precise execution of duties in strict accordance with the instructions and procedures laid down in the flydubai Operations Manuals.
  • Information Security: Read, comply with, and report any issues regarding the company's Information Security Requirements (ISR) policies.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

To be considered for the UAE Cadet program, candidates must meet the following stringent requirements:

  • Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma.
  • Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in both English and Arabic.
  • Flying Experience:
    • Ages 20–34: Minimum of 225 hours of flying time.
    • Ages 35–50: Minimum of 1,000 hours of flying time.
  • Licensing & Exams: Must hold a Commercial Pilot License / Instrument Rating (CPL/IR) with Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) for a Frozen ATPL. Foreign license holders must pass the GCAA Air-law exam.
  • Language Rating: English Language Proficiency (ELP) Level 4 or above.
  • Medical Fitness: Must possess a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
  • Military Service: Proof of completed military service or official exemption is preferred before joining.
