Title: Vice President – Legal Counsel – Markets (SCIB) Category: Jobs Organiser: Santander UK Description: Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) is seeking a Vice President – Legal Counsel for its Global Markets division. This is an interim, client-facing role based in London, offered as a fixed-term contract until October 30, 2026, to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will work closely with the front office on a broad spectrum of derivatives and securities financing transactions, as well as other legal initiatives within SCIB’s UK operations. The primary responsibilities include drafting and negotiating complex legal documentation such as ISDA and GMRA agreements, master trading agreements, and transaction-level documentation. The role also requires monitoring and embedding relevant legal and regulatory developments into product documentation and providing practical, business-focused advice to the trading floor. Eligibility: * Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years’ Post-Qualification Experience (PQE). * Experience gained within a law firm or financial institution. * Significant experience negotiating ISDA and GMRA agreements. * Deep understanding of legal risks relevant to financial markets and up-to-date knowledge of UK financial regulations. * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with proven stakeholder management abilities. * Additional European language skills are considered an advantage.
