Role Overview

The Associate Counsel will be primarily responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating global commercial contracts, with a strong focus on vendor and supplier agreements originating from the United States, Europe, India, and Singapore. Reporting to the Managing Counsel, APAC, the successful candidate will collaborate with departments such as People, Security, and Procurement to protect the business while facilitating rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Order Forms, and NDAs.
• Strategic Advisory: Provide business-friendly, pragmatic legal advice to ensure agreements align with internal policies, playbooks, and risk management standards.
• Process Scaling: Help develop and enhance legal playbooks to streamline and scale the legal function as the company grows.
• Regulatory Awareness: Stay updated on changing laws, regulations, and industry guidelines impacting commercial transactions.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

• Bar Admission: Must be a fully qualified lawyer admitted to practice law in India.
• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating global commercial agreements (specifically vendor/supplier contracts) either in-house or with a nationally recognized law firm.
• Core Competencies: Exceptional negotiation skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Preferred Skills: Experience with contract management systems and data privacy is considered a plus.

Location & Work Flexibility

This position offers excellent location flexibility. Candidates can choose to work from AlphaSense's offices in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, or Delhi, or work remotely from anywhere in India.
