Description: The Square Circle Clinic, a criminal justice initiative under NALSAR University of Law, is inviting applications on a rolling basis for its 2026 internship programme. The clinic provides pro bono defence to death row inmates and undertrials, and conducts research on forensics, mental health, torture, and legal aid. Interns will gain meaningful exposure to criminal justice issues and legal aid work in India.
Eligibility: Students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate programmes in law, humanities, social sciences, psychology, psychiatry, or media and communication.
Duration: 4 to 12 weeks (Full-time) or a minimum of 12 weeks (Part-time).
Stipend: ₹10,000 per 4 weeks for full-time internships; ₹5,000 for part-time internships.
Mode & Location: Primarily in-person in New Delhi, Pune, and Nagpur. Remote internships are considered only under exceptional circumstances.
