Chief Counsel APAC

Contextual Overview

ADM is seeking a Chief Counsel for the APAC region based in Singapore. This leadership role serves as the principal deputy and operational lead for the APAC legal team, reporting to the General Counsel, APAC LARC. The position involves overseeing business unit and country counsels, providing strategic legal advice to regional leadership, and managing complex cross-border legal matters.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Education: LLB or LLM from a reputable law school.
• Qualification: Admitted to practice in at least one APAC jurisdiction.
• Experience: Minimum 18 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) with a blend of international law firm and in-house MNC experience.
• Expertise: Proven track record in cross-border transactions (M&A, JVs, commercial contracts) and managing multi-jurisdictional legal teams.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Lead, mentor, and develop the APAC legal team across multiple jurisdictions.
• Provide senior-level legal counsel to the APAC President and Executive Council.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate enterprise-level legal risks including regulatory, litigation, and contractual risks.
• Establish legal operational frameworks, playbooks, and digitalization initiatives.
• Manage external counsel relationships and regional legal budgets.
