Legal Counsel

Contextual Overview

Alfa Laval is seeking a Legal Counsel to support Operation China in ensuring compliance, enabling growth, and identifying and managing business risks from a legal perspective based in Wuxi, China.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Law, with a legal professional qualification certificate.
• Minimum of 7-8 years of relevant legal experience; experience in multinational manufacturing companies is preferred.
• Proficiency in laws and regulations related to export control and international sanctions, alongside familiarity with EU economic, trade, and compliance laws.
• Fluent oral English with excellent legal English reading and writing skills.
• Capable of independently handling foreign-related contracts and supply chain compliance matters for the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Identifying and managing business risk through sound commercial, legal, and ethical risk assessments across sales, distribution, manufacturing, IP, product liability, M&A, and regulatory requirements.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex supply, service, and purchase contracts globally (including EPC contracts).
• Providing support in compliance areas such as fair competition, export control, and sanctions.
• Managing and coordinating disputes and litigations in liaison with external counsel.
• Conducting training for business colleagues in commercial contracts, corporate governance, and compliance.
